Learn more about Director Chen and the story behind Vox Nativa Taiwan
Director Haomei Chen, also serving as the stage manager for the Vox Nativa, spent a long time accompanying children on their journey of conquering the world with their performances, and it took her four years to complete the documentary film Behind the Singing, which documents the journey of these children. As a witness to the development of the Vox Nativa over the years, the Vancouver Taiwanese Film Festival will invite her to share her journey during the filming of the movie with Vancouver audiences virtually. The festival aims to provide the audience with a deeper understanding of these children who use beautiful voices to sing the touching melodies from their homeland.

Hao-mei Chen
Director Hao-mei Chen, formerly a seasoned producer and coordinator for advertising and commercial videos, has been involved in the production of biographical programs for international channels such as Discovery and AETN. After volunteering at Vox Nativa for three years, observing and building relationships, and being deeply affected by the tragic accident involving director Chi Po-lin in 2017, Chen, at the age of 50, decided to make the documentary Behind the Singing as a milestone in her life, marking it her directorial debut!
